Set amidst the natural beauty of the Isles of Shoals ten miles off the coast of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the summer conferences on Star Island offer a place to experience religion, spirituality and a feeling of community. Though owned and operated by the Star Island Corporation, a group of Unitarian-Universalists and members of the United Church of Christ, conferences are regularly attended by people of many denominations and faiths. Many conferees, known affectionatly as "shoalers," return to Star Island year after year for the peace of mind, personal growth and family of friends they find there.
